Bar Story Care Instructions Sizing Chart   The memory of Chicago’s Bucket of Blood Club lives on in the mysterious origins of the popular drink and hangover cure, the Bloody Mary. It is said that American bartender, Ferdinand Petiot, invented the drink while working at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris in the 1920s. The drink became a favorite of the establishment and Petiot agreed to name the drink, “Bloody Mary,” when a patron suggested that it reminded him of the Bucket of Blood Club in Chicago and a girl named Mary who worked there. The Bucket of Blood was a popular bar and brothel frequented by Chicago’s newspaper crowd in the 20s. Petiot brought the Bloody Mary back with him when he returned to the States in the 1930s to bartend in New York. It remains a favorite drink and hangover remedy today.
