Bar Story Care Instructions Sizing Chart   2858 N. Halstead, Chicago In Chicago’s Gaslight Corner, formerly at 2858 N. Halsted, patrons found a true tavern richly influenced by German drinking aesthetics. Simple and clean, the Gaslight sported old-world features such as hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and white stucco walls. German bratwurst, cheeseburgers, and onion rings were menu favorites and were dirt cheap.  Drinks were, of course, aplenty with specialty Germanic beers, liquors, and wine. The Gaslight also boasted an in-house liquor store and a large rathskeller below street level with comfortable seating and a fireplace.  You could stumble out back to find the beer garden, or stay inside to watch sports on the big screen.  For part of its history, the Gaslight sat across the street from the old Steppenwolf Theatre (now located much further south on Halsted.)
