Bar Story Care Instructions Sizing Chart   “Mingle with the Beautiful, the Famous and the Desirable.” Until 1997 the place to find the new voices of Chicago jazz was at 666 N. Lake Shore Drive. This devilish address was home to the Gold Star Sardine Bar, one of Chicago’s last cabaret clubs. Reminiscent of the New York chic hotel lounges of the 40s, the dimly lit bar packed ‘em in like sardines on the weekends with lines that stretched around the block.  The Gold Star was known to serve a mean, but almost comically oversized martini and some of the best sliders around. If you needed your nicotine fix, you could find complimentary smokes in tiny silver boxes on each table.  Although the Gold Star has closed its doors, its place in Chicago’s rich history of jazz is permanent.  If it were still around today, it would rival some of the greatest jazz clubs in town.
