You had to be “buzzed” in by the bar staff at this local bar that was located directly across the street from the Harlem Hospital.  Its kitschy-chic interior included such decorative touches as a velvet painting of Stevie Wonder, retro red and black decor, and an extremely vintage cash register. There wasn’t even a phone in this bar - the only contemporary item in it was a jukebox.  John’s Recovery Room was known to cause and cure many hangovers in its glory days.
